Pssst…

If you’d like a sneak peek, Art In Bloom will open “softly” on Thursday, July 22nd. Located at 409 W. Main St. in downtown Brighton, the hours for this first day will be 12 noon-9pm. These special hours will coincide with the art festivities already occurring in town. On Thursday evenings during the summer, the Brighton Art Guild sponsors, “Art at the Millpond,” a fun place to view art, meet local artists and enjoy the millpond setting.

Friday July 23rd and Saturday July 24th, the store will be not only be open for business, but I will also participate in Brighton’s Summerfest 2010. Look for my canopy-covered booth in the street right out in front of the shop. The local merchants of Main Street, along with the Brighton Chamber of Commerce host this wonderful family event from 9am-midnight both days. Art In Bloom will be offering a community art-making experience, free of charge, in which two large murals will be painted and later displayed in the store. Please stop by, pick up a paintbrush and introduce yourself (or if you’re one of my former students, give me a hug!)

The Grand Opening of Art In Bloom will occur the week of July 26-31. Many specials events are planned for the weeklong celebration, including the opening reception for Jon Cooney, my first featured artist in the floral gallery. More details to come.
