Brighton residents, and husband and wife team, Charlie and Paula Shoulders developed their love for working with glass into their own company, Living On the Etch, in 2004.
Charlie is a flameworker who uses a torch and tools to melt, blow and sculpt borosilicate glass. His hummingbirds have been one of the best sellers at Art In Bloom for nearly two years now. I am often asked to incorporate one of these stunning and unique creations into a simple floral arrangement. It’s the perfect combination of fresh blooms and a lasting keepsake. Paula works in kiln-formed glass and stained glass. Her fused glass tiles, available at Art In Bloom, are definitely another hot seller.
To learn more about this talented couple and to check their upcoming art fair schedule go to Living On the Etch.
…and enjoy your long weekend!
Art In Bloom will be closed Saturday, May 26 through Monday, May 28. We will reopen for business at 9am on Tuesday, the 29th. Please send an email to email@example.com if you need assistance over the weekend and I will try to get back to you as soon as possible.
The six different art-themed camps for this summer are beginning to fill up. If you know a young artist interested in a camp, please download the registration form or stop by the studio to reserve a space as class sizes are limited. The artwork of Peggy Brewer will be on display at the Art In Bloom gallery through June 2nd. Peggy’s work is soft, serene and like a breath of fresh spring air. I really enjoy the immediacy of her pastel work.
