Gorgeous flowers at the Palmer House Hotel in Chicago

A weekend getaway just before school starts up consisted of mostly pleasure (shopping, museums and relaxation,) with a bit of business thrown in for good measure. 🙂

Here are a few images of some of the beautiful floral designs that I admired while staying at the historic Palmer House in Chicago. I love the use of inexpensive seasonal flowers in very high style designs!

Wedding Flowers for Melissa and John

On August 11, 2012 Melissa Day and John Steffenson were wed at Sharon Mills in Manchester. This was a new venue for me and I would highly recommend it to future wedding and event customers. The property is really lovely with several covered areas, the River Raisin flowing by and a historic mill structure. I was also invited to attend the wedding and was impressed with the food served….both the appetizers and the vegetarian dinner were amazingly good. My compliments to Food Art of Manchester!

Fabulous Artwork

Stop by tonight from 6-8pm and join us as we celebrate the opening of Fred Hall and Mary Boyer’s exhibit with a wine and cheese reception. These two artists from the Lansing area asked to display together and have very different artistic styles! Fred’s work is sculptural with clean lines and a strong sense of design. Mary uses pastels and oils to create subtle landscape scenes, still life and portraits that pull you closer.

Fine Art Festival

Stop in for your dose of ART this weekend!

The Brighton Fine Art & Acoustic Music Festival runs Friday, August 3rd-Sunday, August 5th.

The streets will be filled with a wide variety of art, artists and art activities. At Art In Bloom we’re offering a chance to pick up a paintbrush and add your touch to our community mural. This is our third year to be a part of this event and the murals keep getting better!
