Mary and Greg were married on April 7th at St. Elizabeth’s Church in Tecumseh. The bridesmaids wore wisteria and the men were dressed in black and white. They were a pleasure to work with and I thoroughly enjoyed designing their wedding day florals!
At our first consultation, Greg made it clear that he would like to add his own touch to the wedding decor and I always admire a groom who gets involved in the details. He is a pheasant hunter and provided feathers to incorporate into their wear and carry flowers.
Greg’s boutonniere~ ranunculus, a spray rose bud, seeded eucalyptus and a few of Greg’s feathers.

These little wearables are such a big part of prom night! That’s why we put so much love and detail into each one we design. Ordering a week or more in advance is highly suggested since we only create a limited number! (Due to Mothers Day, the weekend of May 11-13th we will be limiting our corsage and boutonniere orders to the first 30 and as of April 30th, have reached that limit!)

Clients often ask how I am inspired to create the designs that they see featured on my sites and that are created daily. Well, I absolutely adore working with fresh flowers! It is honestly a joy to go into the studio each day and create designs to share with others using hand selected flowers and foliage.
My first source of inspiration is often the materials that are in season. I have deliveries of fresh product brought into the studio at least three times per week and most days, I take the time to “shop the trucks” (think flower markets on wheels with lots and lots of buckets) to find inspiration for the orders I will be filling.
We call this a flower pull. These bunches will soon become part of the daily floral creations. Many thanks to our wholesale rep, Kim from DWF Flint!
I also find inspiration in nature. I am constantly picking up fallen branches, pine cones, pieces of bark and even stones to add to designs when I am out on hikes. These treasures from nature can get stored for months until the right order comes in.
Natural sympathy design inspired by natural elements.
My background in the fine arts also supplies me with new ideas for arrangements. Lately, I am enjoying the pastel work of Odilon Redon. I find these floral pieces created in the early 1900’s so refreshing in their simplicity of design.

Let’s face it, the cold weather and shorter days really do have an effect on our mood. Even before I opened my own floral studio, I found that fresh flowers and plants were an easy way to lift my spirits.
