Inspiration

Clients often ask how I am inspired to create the designs that they see featured on my sites and that are created daily. Well, I absolutely adore working with fresh flowers! It is honestly a joy to go into the studio each day and create designs to share with others using hand selected flowers and foliage.

My first source of inspiration is often the materials that are in season. I have deliveries of fresh product brought into the studio at least three times per week and most days, I take the time to “shop the trucks” (think flower markets on wheels with lots and lots of buckets) to find inspiration for the orders I will be filling.

We call this a flower pull. These bunches will soon become part of the daily floral creations. Many thanks to our wholesale rep, Kim from DWF Flint!

I also find inspiration in nature. I am constantly picking up fallen branches, pine cones, pieces of bark and even stones to add to designs when I am out on hikes. These treasures from nature can get stored for months until the right order comes in.

My background in the fine arts also supplies me with new ideas for arrangements. Lately, I am enjoying the pastel work of Odilon Redon. I find these floral pieces created in the early 1900’s so refreshing in their simplicity of design.

When you place an order, be sure to ask what inspires us and which blooms are our favorites of the week. I would love to customize a floral arrangement just for you!
