Well, it’s official…our 2017 Wedding Season is booked! We are super excited to work with so many great couples but also sorry to let others know that our calendar is full and we are no longer booking weddings for this year. If you are in need of flowers for a wedding in 2018 or beyond, please send an email or give me a call to talk about reserving your date.
As we ramp up toward the season to come, I have been reminiscing over some of the photos from last year. Wedding work is so, so much work but also, very rewarding. It is always such a pleasure to meet with couples, talk through their ideas and help them create their own unique vision for the big day. Sending a big Thank You to all of the couples who have entrusted us with your floral accessories and decor!

The day has arrived and the styled shoot that I was ecstatic to collaborate on last September has been picked up by, and published on the wedding blog, Borrowed & Blue! It was such a pleasure to work with all of the other super talented wedding professionals on this. Many thanks to Shelbi Britton Events, Lia Giannotti Photography, Sparky Noodle Bakery, The White Dress, EB Design Studio (Andi Harvey), Hair by Simona and Bridal Beauty Detroit, LLC.
And an especially big thanks to Breanna and Eric for modeling for this shoot! I can’t wait to design the florals for their actual wedding in September!!!
To see the full photo shoot at Spicer’s Vineyard & Orchard in Fenton, follow this link to Borrowed & Blue.
Each bouquet we design is as unique as the bride who carries it!
I love finishing a bouquet with a special family item such as a handkerchief from Grandma.
It’s such a satisfying process to go from an initial consultation with a couple, getting a feel for their style, color scheme, etc. to ordering the freshest seasonal product and then bringing it all together with the creation of finished florals.
Jessica’s bouquet (5/21/16) of O’Hara garden roses, ranunculus, stock, dusty miller, astilbe and more.
Stacy’s bouquet in white, beige and hints of gold. I had fun finding this vase to complete the look at the reception.
Maureen selected succulents and Juliet garden roses for her bouquet in a rustic, barn setting.
Another great perk to designing wedding florals~ visiting so many unique and beautiful venues! Each location dictates a different tone for the ceremony and reception decor.
Maureen and Alek were married May 21st at a rustic setting in Howell, MI.
Stacy and Michael were married May 20th at The Gandy Dancer, Ann Arbor, MI.
Preeta and Bradley were married May 21st and held their reception on the outdoor patio at The Gandy Dancer.
Well, it’s post Mother’s Day and the store felt a bit cleaned out (which is always a good sign:)) so I went on a plant shopping spree to renew the energy and “green up” the space. We’ve been busy potting different combinations and displaying all of our oxygen producing friends. Let us know which one is perfect for you! 810-227-9500
Angel Vine Hoops (love these!)
One of a variety of European gardens available in tins and baskets.
Not sure what to give as a gift? You can never go wrong with the lasting and green power of plants!
Ever popular succulents waiting to be picked up individually or planted in a container.
A great option when you want something lasting…succulents arranged in a low tray with accents of fresh and dried foliage and moss.
These beauties are 6″ across and full of blooms- dinner plate echeveria.
Air plants are available in two different sizes. They can be incorporated into your home decor in so many fun ways! All they need to survive is oxygen and a bit of humidity.
Bromeliads and anthuriums along with a mini planter in a love bird container.
As I prepare the studio for Prom Season each year, I always try to stay aware of the current trends in clothing, shoes, etc. This helps me understand which direction to head with the floral accents. I’ve noticed that the traditional gowns are getting a modern twist with more color, pattern and even a new two piece option this year. Not only am I seeing these online but several girls have already been in the shop to share their dresses as they begin shopping for their corsages and boutonnieres and I’m seeing the same look. Super adorable.
It got me wondering what other options I could offer to wear as a floral accent for prom. Think…floral jewelry (rings, earrings and necklaces) along with the traditionally accepted floral bracelet aka wrist corsage.
And how about a flower enhanced bag or purse to carry to the dance?
We have so many unique bands and gorgeous wire products available- a corsage on the wrist can look more like a “floral bracelet.”
And we can’t forget the guys! Here are a few of the new tux trends for 2016. Love the use of pattern, as well as the contrasting color on the lapels.
We typically design a boutonniere to coordinate with the color scheme that the date is wearing. Roses are the most often requested blooms but here are a few more unique offerings to consider, too.
Give us a call at 810-227-9500 or stop by to talk with us. I highly advise placing your order as least a week or more before the big day. Thanks for reading!
